Ryan Aynsley and Erik Wentzel each scored twice, Tyler Robinson added another as the Rebels won 5-1 in Nelson tonight, giving them a sweep in their opening weekend home-and-home series. Goaltender Andrew Walton made 27 saves, including one off an Adrian Moyls penalty shot, in a game that saw Nelson go 0/8 on the power play. The only blemish on his record was a short-handed breakaway courtesy of Gavin Currie in a night that saw Nelson frustrated offensively. The Rebels were outshot 28-19 in the game.

Could the Columbia Valley Rockies be turning a new leaf? They're 2-0 to start the season after wins against Golden and Kimberley. For the second straight night, Beaver Valley scored a late third period goal to win, this time courtesy of Tyler Collins in a 3-2 win over Spokane.
