Thunder Cats 4 Rebels 3

Ryan Hewitt scored the eventual game winner on a power-play 5:44 into the third period, and the Creston Valley Thunder Cats withstood a 41-shot barrage to sneak past the Castlegar Rebels 4-3 tonight at the Johnny Bucyk Arena. Travis Ludwar put home a pair for the winners, while Ryan Aynsley, Anthony DeLong and Arthur Andrews tallied for the Rebels. Andrew Walton made 17 saves in goal for Castlegar, who have not won in Creston since January 5, 2008 (a 12-5 victory that saw Brent Lucente lead the way with five points).

Rough Stuff
: Forward Spencer Brodt was tossed 4:13 into the second period after scrapping with Creston's Colton Meaden. Rookie Adam Smith was also booked for being the third man in.

Up Next: A home tilt with the Beaver Valley Nitehawks Saturday night (7:30, Complex).

Out of Town: Beaver Valley shut out Nelson 3-0 and, with a win tomorrow, could hold a share of the Neil Murdoch division lead. Other Neil Murdoch Division scores were not available at the time of writing.
