After falling behind 2-0 in the second period, the Rebels scored 6 unanswered goals, many of the highlight-reel variety, in a 6-3 win over the Columbia Valley Rockies at the Complex tonight. Spencer Brodt had a pair, including a coast-to-coast short-handed effort, while Erik Wentzel, Tyler Robinson, Ryan Reid and Kwinn Mazzilli added singles. Kory Movold, Stephen Hynes and Tryg Strand replied for Columbia Valley.
The Rebels got the veteran response tonight that they needed in last night's loss. Timely efforts from the line of Wentzel, Brodt and Anthony DeLong helped put the Rebels back into the win column, while Reid (who was picked as player of the game) was a key to a solid 5-skater Rebel defence. The team was without sniper Ryan Aynsley (who was a late scratch), and captain Taylor Anderson missed the third period after scrapping Rockies defenseman Jake Halderman.
Out of Town: Every other Neil Murdoch division team in action won tonight. Grand Forks put a dozen past Penticton in a 12-4 win (Artsiom and Yan Kalashnikov each had 5 points). Beaver Valley shut out Creston Valley 3-0, while Nelson whipped the Kamloops Storm 5-1.
