Junker, Verner Audio + Smith Moves Up

I chatted with the two coaches involved in yesterday's blockbuster involving Andrew Walton, Mike Wiest and Jamie Vlanich.

For Rebels bench boss Steve Junker, click here.

Movin' On Up: Junker also confirmed with me that Adam Smith is officially a member of the BCHL's Cowichan Valley Capitals. He's been added to their active roster this afternoon as well. Smith is pointless in 4 appearances so far in Duncan. The Nanaimo product finishes his stint with the Rebels with 3 points and 108 PIM in 16 games. Best of luck to "Smitty" as he continues his hockey career!

DeLong Nominated: The Rebels have also nominated Anthony DeLong as their player of the month for November. DeLong picked up points in all but one of Castlegar's 8 games last month (11 points in total). He'll surely be counted on to be one of the Rebels' offensive leaders as the season progresses, especially now that Ryan Aynsley is in the BCHL.

Speaking of Aynsley, Mountain FM's Jon Zacks has an interview with him up on his blog.

Bits & Bites: A few other nominees to throw out there for November players of the month: Tyler Jackson (Kamloops), Ryan Hewitt (Creston Valley), Fraser Abdallah (Fernie) and Richard Hubscher (Kimberley) have all been selected by their respective teams, with more to come in the next few days. One Neil Murdoch division signing of note to pass along as well. Spokane signed 18-year old forward Tyler Mort. His younger brother Tanner is a defenceman with the WHL's Spokane Chiefs.
